Turnkey 3MP NVR home surveillance

The Swann 8 Channel 3MP HD IP kit (model SWNVK-873004) is engineered for property owners who want a complete digital surveillance package without assembling separate components. This swann 3mp NVR kit pairs an eight-channel network video recorder with four weatherproof bullet cameras operating at 1536p resolution. By generating 3 megapixels per channel, the video feed produces nine times the image sharpness of traditional analog D1 platforms. This extra visual data ensures clean playback when reviewing vehicle movements along driveways or human activity near access doors.

Continuous surveillance demands dependable storage, and this system comes with a pre-installed 2TB hard drive that supports continuous recording across eight channels for over 24 days, with capacity expandable up to 6TB. Recording periods stretch significantly further when leveraging the onboard motion detection settings. Nighttime monitoring remains strong thanks to built-in infrared cut filters that deliver night vision reach up to 100 feet. Live viewing is accessible on iOS and Android devices via the Swann View Link mobile application using peer-to-peer network setup, while local display output is handled through HDMI and VGA connections.

This package is ideal for users starting a new installation who require higher detail than entry-level 1080p gear without stepping into the higher infrastructure demands of 4K equipment. It yields to standalone recorders when you already own functional IP cameras, but as a complete starter bundle, it establishes an organized surveillance perimeter right out of the carton.

• Delivers 1536p super high definition video at a smooth 30 frames per second per channel
• Includes four IP66 weather-resistant bullet cameras with 100-foot night vision reach
• Pre-installed 2TB surveillance hard drive expandable up to 6TB capacity
• Remote viewing support on mobile devices via the free Swann View Link application

Adding spotlight deterrence to DVRs

The Swann Add-On DVR Bullet Security Camera is a specialized expansion unit created to reinforce existing analog DVR setups with visible deterrence. Capturing video in 1080p Full HD, this swann add-on bullet camera features an integrated sensor spotlight designed to illuminate dark areas the moment motion is detected. This spotlight feature introduces color night vision up to 32 feet, allowing homeowners to discern important characteristics such as clothing colors or vehicle shades that traditional black-and-white infrared feeds fail to capture.

Beyond color illumination, the camera maintains a standard infrared black-and-white night vision range reaching up to 100 feet in complete darkness. A wide 90-degree field of view ensures expansive scene coverage, reducing the total camera count needed along building perimeters or across open backyards. Equipped with True Detect heat and motion sensing, the camera uses passive infrared sensors to distinguish warm bodies like humans and vehicles from benign disturbances such as rustling foliage or falling rain, thereby reducing nuisance alerts.

This camera fits homeowners who already operate an analog DVR and want to add active deterrence along walkways or garage aprons. It gives way to complete recording kits if you do not yet own a DVR recorder, and steps aside for higher-tier 4K cameras when extreme long-range identification is mandatory.

• Captures 1080p Full HD resolution with effective still resolution listed up to 8 MP
• Sensor spotlights provide color night vision up to 32 feet and black-and-white reach up to 100 feet
• Wide 90-degree field of view minimizes perimeter blind spots
• True Detect heat and motion detection reduces false alerts from wind and foliage

Complete entry-level wired deterrence

The Swann Home Business Wired DVR package provides a dependable eight-channel wired surveillance framework designed for continuous protection. Featuring four 1080p bullet cameras and a central recorder equipped with a 1TB local hard drive, this swann 1080p DVR system eliminates recurring storage fees by keeping all video archived on-site. The pre-installed drive holds extensive footage locally, while customizable detection zones allow administrators to mask out irrelevant background movement and prioritize vital access points.

Each camera in this kit incorporates motion-triggered spotlights that provide active crime deterrence, warning trespassers while generating color night vision up to 32 feet. When ambient lighting drops entirely and spotlights remain unengaged, standard infrared LEDs provide black-and-white night vision up to 100 feet, with the general specification table noting a 50-foot baseline range. Operating on a stable Linux-based embedded operating system, the recorder maintains a 15 frame-per-second recording cadence that balances smooth playback with efficient drive space utilization. It also supports Smart Search playback, allowing users to select a specific zone on screen to rapidly find recorded motion events.

If you are exploring other multi-channel wired options across our reviews, examining our sannce security camera analysis helps highlight differences in wired recorder architectures. Ultra HD upgrades on 4K DVRs

The Swann 4K UHD Add-On Security Cams(Only expansion camera (model SRPRO-4KRLWB4-SF) brings ultra-high-definition capture to compatible analog setups. Engineered strictly as a 4K AHD expansion unit, this swann 4K add-on camera requires a DVR that supports 4K resolution or higher, preferably from Swann. Attempting to connect this camera to standard 1080p or 3MP analog recorders results in no video signal, making recorder verification vital prior to installation.

For systems that meet the resolution threshold, this camera delivers exceptional optical performance. The 4K sensor records broad areas with sufficient pixel density to permit deep digital zoom on vehicle plates and distant faces. Nighttime capabilities are equally substantial: active sensor lights enable color night vision up to 32 feet, while the primary infrared night vision extends up to 130 feet in total darkness. True Detect thermal sensing monitors for warm moving objects, triggering onboard deterrence lights, an audible siren, and push notifications to smartphones to actively discourage unauthorized visitors.

The unit features an IP66 weatherproof housing capable of handling severe rain, snow, and dust. The packaging includes 60 feet of connection cable, a power adapter, a power splitter, mounting screws, wall plugs, and security warning stickers. This model represents the premier choice for property owners seeking maximum visual reach on an existing 4K DVR, but it yields to standard 1080p add-ons if you operate an older, lower-resolution recorder.

• Ultra HD 4K video resolution for superior digital zooming and identification
• Long-distance night vision reaching 130 feet in black-and-white and 32 feet in color
• True Detect heat and motion sensing triggers integrated spotlights and siren
